At the centre of all we do sits a fantastic set of Volunteers that run our face to face Scouting, from Skips to Akelas, Baloos to Bosun’s our group has them all. We have had much success in attracting Adult leadership. Unfortunately like all Scout Groups we still need a few more!

The key to any form of volunteering within the Group is flexibility. Gone are the days where to be a leader you must turn up every week. We understand that modern life isn’t like that and are grateful for any time you can give.

Not only can we offer flexibility in timing, but we also offer it in roles. We have a role in the Leadership team that would suit anyone who want s to help out on the frontline of Scouting. These include:-

Group Scout Leader

To manage and support the Scout Group and its Leaders to ensure it runs effectively and that Scouting within the Group develops in accordance with the rules and policies of The Scout Association.

Section Leader

Manage and lead the operation of the Section. In particular, the planning and delivery of the Balanced Programme, with the help of Assistant Section Leaders, Section Assistants, Young Leaders and members of Scout Active Support as appropriate. This is a Uniformed role and id the person who heads up a section. They are full members of the Association and are expected to carry out Leader Training and gain a Wood Badge. The rewards of leading young people are immense, and no one has the ability to shape a young person’s Scouting career quite like a section Leader.

Assistant Section Leader

Support the operation of the Section. In particular, the planning and delivery of the Balanced Programme, with the help of other Section Leaders, Assistant Section Leaders, Section Assistants, Young Leaders and members of Scout Active Support as appropriate. Another Uniformed role and a full member of the Association. The assistant leader has the same training responsibilities as a Leader. Section Assistant Leader is a great place to learn the trade before taking on a section of your own, perhaps someday.

Section Assistant

Section Assistants are adult volunteers who assist the Section Leaders and Assistant Section Leaders in delivering the programme to young people in Scouting. Uniform is optional, as is full membership of the Association. Training commitments are very light.
